Binance founder CZ confirmed in a recent podcast that his legal team has submitted a pardon application on his behalf to former U.S. President Trump. Previously, Bloomberg and The Wall Street Journal reported that CZ was seeking a pardon, but he denied it at the time. CZ stated that part of the reason for applying for a pardon was inspired by Trump’s previous pardon of the BitMEX founder.
Last November, CZ pleaded guilty to violating the Bank Secrecy Act, paid a $50 million fine, and was sentenced to 4 months in prison.
