Foresight News reports that a key contributor to the $UNI (Uniswap) DAO, known pseudonymously as Pepo, has formally stepped down from their role, citing concerns about centralized influence within the protocol's governance—particularly regarding the Uniswap Foundation. According to Pepo, recent actions by the Foundation appear to prioritize the broader DAO's governance framework, potentially at the expense of the Foundation’s and Uniswap Labs' independent interests.

Pepo has been active in Uniswap’s governance since 2023, serving as a delegate and voting representative on behalf of other UNI token holders. With a voting power of approximately 455,000 UNI tokens, Pepo ranks among the top 20 representatives within the ecosystem.

Responding to the resignation, Uniswap Foundation Executive Director Devin Walsh reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to a decentralized governance model, stating that representative engagement is critical to the continued growth and resilience of the Uniswap ecosystem. Walsh further emphasized that the Foundation welcomes constructive feedback from all stakeholders.
