The Federal Reserve's monetary policy meeting in May will be held at 2 AM Beijing time on May 8. According to data from the CME Group, the probability of maintaining the current interest rates at this meeting is 95.6%, while the probability of a 25 basis point rate cut is 4.4%.
However, this morning (the 7th) at 9 AM, People's Bank of China Governor Pan Gongsheng announced: a 0.5 percentage point reserve requirement ratio cut, providing approximately 1 trillion yuan in long-term liquidity to the market, and a 0.1 percentage point reduction in the policy interest rate.
Bitcoin has behaved unusually today, starting to rise even before the monetary policy meeting has begun. Does this mean there are new uncertainties regarding interest rate cuts? Will the Federal Reserve cut rates earlier?
