I read news from Binance that on the night of May 9 to the morning of May 10, the two networks Optimism and Metal DAO will proceed with upgrades and hard forks. Specifically, around 23:00 Vietnam time, the system will begin updating.
One hour before that, at 22:00 on May 9, Binance will temporarily suspend withdrawals and deposits of OP and MTL to ensure there are no issues during the transition.
You can rest assured that spot and futures trading orders are still running normally and are not affected.
This upgrade, as I understand it, is an important step for those blockchains to run more smoothly, be more secure, and further help stabilize the entire ecosystem in the long run. Although it may seem technical on the surface, behind it is a hidden race for technology among the chains.
I'm not advising you to buy or sell anything, I just think that knowing in advance helps you be more proactive, avoiding depositing or withdrawing right when they temporarily suspend, and then missing out on opportunities.
