The governors of six states in the northeastern United States—Massachusetts, Maine, New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Vermont—have invited the premiers of six provinces in Canada to hold talks in Boston to discuss "the impact of U.S. tariff policy and how the United States and Canada can continue to collaborate to maintain a strong trade relationship." According to reports, these governors stated that the tariff policy of the Trump administration "undermines" U.S.-Canada relations and "is not in the best interest of the states or the United States."
