REOPENING OF ALCATRAZ? 🤔
Donald Trump said that he ordered his government to reopen and expand Alcatraz, the former prison located on an island near the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco.
In a message on Truth Social on Sunday, Trump claimed that "for too long the U.S. has been plagued by vicious, violent, and repeat offenders".
The reopening of Alcatraz - once famous for being one of the toughest prisons in the country - would serve as a "symbol of law, order, and justice," Trump noted.
Democratic leaders stated that the proposal "is not serious". The maximum-security facility, also known as The Rock, closed in 1963 and currently operates as a successful tourist attraction.
