Washington, May 5, 2025
The Chairman of the House Financial Services Committee, French Hill (AR-02), the Chairman of the House Agriculture Committee, GT Thompson (PA-15), the Chairman of the Subcommittee on Digital Assets, Financial Technology, and Artificial Intelligence of the House Financial Services Committee, Bryan Steil (WI-01), and the Chairman of the Subcommittee on Commodity Markets, Digital Assets, and Rural Development of the House Agriculture Committee, Dusty Johnson (SD-AL), today published a discussion draft of a bill to establish a regulatory framework for digital assets in the United States.
Chairman Hill stated: "We achieved historic progress in the 118th Congress to reach bipartisan and bicameral consensus on creating a functional regulatory framework for digital assets. Our discussion draft builds on that work and provides the much-needed regulatory clarity for the digital asset ecosystem, protecting consumers and safeguarding the long-term integrity of digital asset markets in the United States. I look forward to receiving public input and working alongside the Trump Administration and my colleagues in the House and Senate to deliver a clear and lasting framework to President Trump, so that the United States remains the global capital of cryptocurrency."
