On May 5, 1818, a person was born who was a thinker, philosopher, economist, and revolutionary theorist, whose ideas still resonate in academic, social, and political circles around the world.
Karl Marx's greatest achievement is that he discovered the fundamental principles and laws of the evolution and formation of human history that explain the ongoing struggles in human society for centuries. He made it clear that history is not just the story of kings, wars, or personalities but rather a history of continuous class struggle. That struggle arises from the clash of economic interests and leads to changes in the social system.
Marx analyzed capitalism and exposed the exploitative structures within it. He showed that capitalism profits by exploiting the working class (Proletariat) and thus establishes an unequal society. According to his theory, the direction of history changes when the oppressed classes gain consciousness of their exploitative conditions and resist.
