#USStablecoinBill ¿Regulation or crypto revolution?
The U.S. Congress is advancing in the creation of a regulatory framework for stablecoins with two key bills: the STABLE Act in the House of Representatives and the GENIUS Act in the Senate. Both aim to establish clear rules for stablecoin issuers, requiring 1:1 backing with dollars or high-quality liquid assets, and compliance with transparency and anti-money laundering standards.
However, the path has not been easy. In the Senate, the GENIUS Act has faced opposition from some Democrats who previously supported it, concerned about potential money laundering risks and the influence of large tech companies in the financial system.
Despite the tensions, the Senate is speeding up the process to vote on the bill, which could mark a milestone in the regulation of digital assets in the U.S.
Are we facing a new era for digital finance or is it just another chapter in the regulatory battle?
