The boldest Bitcoin prediction from Wall Street is now approaching Hayes' vision—BlackRock and Chamath predict a target price for Bitcoin of $500,000 to $700,000.
Earlier this week, CEO Arthur Hayes made his boldest Bitcoin (BTC) prediction to date: by 2028, the price of Bitcoin will reach an astonishing $1 million.
A few days later, in a follow-up interview with analyst Kyle Chassé, he did not back down but instead outlined a roadmap explaining how global financial chaos will inevitably drive the price of Bitcoin.
The $1 million argument:
In a series of articles on X, Chassé dissected Hayes' thought process, revealing that the Maelstrom CIO's prediction envisions a radical scenario: BTC is no longer just a speculative asset but the ultimate tool for hedging against a potential collapse of the global financial system.
Hayes believes the world is splitting into different economic blocs, with the U.S. and China slowly decoupling. If the traditional system collapses, this cryptocurrency investor anticipates that the ensuing U.S. Treasury buybacks, panic in the bond market, and what he calls a 'currency explosion' will drive institutional investors toward Bitcoin.
Chassé echoed: 'Bitcoin is no longer risk-on; it is systemic risk.'
The cryptocurrency influencer explained in his post that Hayes' prediction could unfold in two phases: by the end of 2025, as liquidity floods the market, the price of Bitcoin is expected to soar to $250,000; subsequently, due to 'growing deficits, currency devaluation, and unstoppable digital scarcity,' the price of Bitcoin will skyrocket to seven figures.
Corporate predictions:
Arthur Hayes' viewpoint is grandiose, yet it is not entirely disconnected from the traditional financial community's predictions for Bitcoin's future. Due to strong demand for spot Bitcoin ETFs, reduced supply post-halving, and a favorable macro environment, multiple companies have recently raised their BTC target prices.
Fundstrat's Tom Lee and H.C. Wainwright's forecasts are close to Hayes' mid-term target, predicting that the BTC price will be between $225,000 and $250,000 by 2025. BlackRock and Social Capital CEO Chamath Palihapitiya's forecasts come closest to Hayes' million-dollar level, at $700,000 and $500,000, respectively.
