Cryptocurrency Breaches Skyrocketed to $92.5M in April 2025: Report by Immunefi

Cryptocurrency breaches in April 2025 resulted in losses of $92.5 million, a 27.3% increase from the same month in the previous year and more than double March 2025's total. Immunefi's report reveals that the year-to-date losses have already exceeded 2024's full-year total, hitting $1.74 billion.

Most of the losses in April arose from two incidents involving the UPCX and KiloEx platforms, with damages amounting to $70.0 million and $7.5 million respectively. The report also indicates that all the attacks were exploits, exclusively targeting the Decentralized Finance (DeFi) sector. Ethereum and BNB Chain were the most targeted networks, accounting for 60% of the total incidents.

The first quarter of 2025 has been particularly disastrous for the crypto industry, with the Bybit hack alone resulting in losses of $1.46 billion.
