Vitalik Buterin Suggests Simplifying Ethereum on Par with Bitcoin's Ease

Ethereum co-founder, Vitalik Buterin, suggests that Ethereum should strive for simplicity akin to Bitcoin, while retaining its advanced features. He proposes three primary areas for simplification: the Consensus Layer, Execution Layer, and the sharing of components across protocol layers.

This might involve implementing a 'three-slot finality' design, reducing active validators, using STARK-based aggregation, and possibly substituting the increasingly complex Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) with a simpler open standard instruction set architecture, such as RISC-V. Buterin asserts that the simplification of Ethereum would be beneficial in the long run, despite the short-term costs.

Meanwhile, even though Ethereum's market share and value have taken a hit this year, experts remain optimistic about its recovery, fueled by an impending roadmap and future upgrades.
