Global Bitcoin Mining Perspectives: Hive Blockchain's Aydin Kilic on Moving from Canada to Paraguay, Trump's Influence, and the Emergence of the Electro-Dollar

In an interview at Paris Blockchain Week 2025, Hive Blockchain's CEO, Aydin Kilic, addressed the company's growth, the impact of Trump's policies on Bitcoin mining, and why Paraguay is their biggest focus. Hive, traditionally Canadian, has moved its HQ to the US for investor positioning but continues to maintain its mining operations globally, mainly outside the US.

Kilic linked the rise in Bitcoin prices to Trump's pro-Bitcoin stance, symbolized by Trump's presence at the Nashville Bitcoin conference. He also introduced the concept of an American electro-dollar backed by energy from Bitcoin mining. Hive's main operational focus is Paraguay, favoured for its renewable energy capacity, with Kilic detailing the company's expansion into the country and involvement in local projects.

He also discussed their partnership with Intel to produce custom ASIC miners, the BuzzMiners, and Hive's future plans.
