📉 Vitalik proposed a "drastic" simplification of Ethereum!!!
On May 3rd, Vitalik published a post proposing a simplified vision for Ethereum: achieving a more efficient and secure L1 with less code and a more streamlined architecture. He criticized the current excessive complexity, high development costs, and challenging audits, and proposed three key reforms:
1️⃣ The consensus layer will introduce "3-slot finality", cutting out complex mechanisms like periods and synchronization committees.
2️⃣ The execution layer plans to introduce the RISC-V virtual machine, enhancing ZK friendliness, with performance potentially skyrocketing by a hundred times.
3️⃣ Promoting standardization and protocol slimming, making core logic easier to audit and maintain.
In the face of challengers like Solana, Ethereum's long-term competitiveness may depend on this "subtraction" revolution.
