Integration Processes and the Formation of a New Power
The process of unification with South Azerbaijan will result in the formation of a new power center, not only geographically and culturally, but also politically and economically. This will mean the joint development of Azerbaijan and Iran’s Azerbaijani regions and the creation of a new hegemonic power in East Eurasia.
1. Political Integration: The political unification must first and foremost strengthen the legal and diplomatic relations with South Azerbaijan while preserving the independence of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The political rights of South Azerbaijan’s population must be guaranteed, and national sovereignty and cultural independence must be strengthened. Restoring mutual trust between the parties will also play an important role in intensifying political relations.
2. Economic Integration and the Formation of a New Power: The unification will not only enhance Azerbaijan’s economic power but will also lead to the formation of a new economic center in the region. Once the economies of the two countries merge, Azerbaijan’s population will rise to about 40 million, creating new market opportunities and enriching the labor force.
Economic Zones and Trade Regions: Economic integration with South Azerbaijan will allow for stronger connections with markets across East Eurasia and the Middle East. Moreover, the establishment of a new economic development zone in the border regions with Iran will have a positive impact.
New Economic Relations and Trade Centers: By combining the rich natural resources of South Azerbaijan with Azerbaijan’s economy, it could transform into a major trade center. Additionally, these economic relations will further strengthen Azerbaijan’s trade relations with neighboring countries, particularly Turkey and Russia.
