A 6.2 magnitude earthquake struck Indonesia’s Sulawesi Island, according to the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency. The quake was centered 10 kilometers below sea level.
Despite the strong tremors, no tsunami warning was issued as the quake is not expected to trigger large sea waves. Residents ran out of buildings in fear, but officials reported no immediate loss of life or property.
Authorities continue to monitor the situation closely and urge the public to stay calm and follow safety guidelines.
