#DigitalAssetBill Provide for the classification of items that may qualify as subjects of personal ownership rights.
ENACTED by the Sovereign’s most Excellent Majesty, with the counsel and agreement of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal and the Members of the House of Commons, in the current session of Parliament, and by the authority hereby granted, as follows:
1. Eligible subjects of personal ownership rights
An item (including one of a digital or electronic character) shall not be excluded from being recognized as subject to personal ownership rights solely on the grounds that it is neither—
(a) a tangible item held physically, nor
(b) an enforceable legal claim or right.
2. Jurisdiction, commencement, and citation
(1) This Act shall apply to the territories of England, Wales, and Northern Ireland.
(2) The provisions of this Act shall take effect on the date of its enactment.
(3) This Act may be referred to as the Digital Property and Ownership Act 2025.
