Top traders are like 'lazy people'
In the past few years, I’ve observed that all the traders who have made big money live their lifestyles very much like what ordinary people would consider 'lazy'.
How are they lazy? They have a slow pace of life, a slow way of speaking, a slow thought process, and they seem to do nothing on most days, appearing idle, not really knowing what they do all day. Where does their energy go? It’s spent on reading and thinking.
What do they think about? What is truly correct. This correctness only needs to be achieved once or twice in one or two years. Then what? They just do what they need to do.
A very counterintuitive phenomenon is that the most reliable investments are not the ones that keep you awake at night, but rather the ones that give you the most peace of mind.
If you have to worry about an investment every day, then it’s likely that this investment is doomed to fail. The best investments in the world are those that don’t require post-investment management; the best investments are those that allow you to count money while lying in bed.
Therefore, good investors are particularly patient and have a Zen-like quality; in 1% of the time, they move like a big cat, pouncing on their prey in an instant, while for 99% of the time, they are like a wooden bowl, quietly standing there, still as a maiden.
So, if our investment level hasn’t improved, perhaps we should calm down and ask ourselves, are we still not like a 'lazy person'?
