Mantra initiates governance "overhaul", internal nodes will be halved, what is the intention?
Mantra has announced a deep governance adjustment to the MANTRA Chain, with a clear core direction—promoting decentralization of the validator structure.
Starting today, MCA6 validator nodes will be deactivated. More aggressively, Mantra plans to halve internal nodes by the end of Q2 2025 and introduce a new batch of external partner nodes to join the network validation.
This move superficially promotes decentralization, but in reality, it releases a signal of "trust sincerity" to the market in the governance game, thereby strengthening the chain's credibility and long-term scalability.
But problems arise as well:
👉 Does the reduction of internal nodes indicate that previous governance was overly centralized?
👉 What are the criteria for introducing external nodes? Is there a truly open competitive mechanism?
This "reconstruction" of the validator structure may be a key step for Mantra to impact greater ecological discourse power. But it may also expose its current centralization risks.
Is it "active evolution" or "forced relinquishment of power"?
