Tokyo, Japan – May 1, 2025 — Tokyo-based Metaplanet is expanding its Bitcoin-focused treasury strategy by launching a U.S.-based subsidiary, Metaplanet Treasury Corp., in Florida. This move aims to strengthen the company's global financial operations and deepen access to American institutional capital.

The new Florida entity will be funded with up to $250 million and will act as Metaplanet’s dedicated vehicle for treasury management in the U.S. The company noted that this step supports continuous operations across global time zones and aligns with its long-term Bitcoin investment strategy.

Florida was selected as the location for the subsidiary due to its growing reputation as a hub for Bitcoin innovation and corporate adoption. Metaplanet, now the largest public holder of Bitcoin in Asia, is leveraging this expansion to reinforce its position on the global crypto stage.
