In true Musk fashion, the tech titan just dropped a political bombshell: he’s out. After a whirlwind 3-month stint in Washington, Elon Musk is officially stepping away from the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) and Trump’s $TRUMP Cabinet—and pivoting back to his Tesla throne.
At an April 30 Cabinet meeting, Musk made it official face-to-face with Trump: "It's been an honor, but it's time to build again." A classic mic-drop moment.
DOGE claimed $160B in savings (well short of the $2T Elon promised), but came with chaos: mass layoffs, disrupted departments, and $135B in projected losses, according to the NYT. It was bold, messy, and oh-so-Musk.
Even Trump couldn’t help but praise him: “You’ve been treated very unfairly.” Elon replied with a grin, “Well, they like to burn my cars.”
What’s next? Elon’s heading back to Tesla full-throttle. DOGE was a detour—Tesla and the crypto scene are the next frontier. Expect volatility, vision, and very likely… another headline moment.
Elon may be done with DOGE, but DOGE isn’t done with us.
