Sam Altman's cryptocurrency scanning project finally reaches the United States.
World International launched its biometric identification system in the United States after years of regulatory hedging and global controversy.

The promise of obtaining free cryptocurrency in exchange for your biometric data is now available in the United States, thanks to World, the eye-scanning project co-founded by OpenAI CEO Sam Altman.
The company announced on Wednesday that it will officially launch its orbs in six major American cities: Atlanta, Austin, Los Angeles, Miami, Nashville, and San Francisco. Although it has traveled across the United States in previous promotional campaigns, it has not provided its full services within the United States.
The first appearance of the World currency, formerly known as Worldcoin, is in the United States much later than in other jurisdictions across Europe, South America, Africa, and Asia.
Previously, the terms and conditions of World prohibited Americans from receiving the WLD crypto tokens, which are given to those who obtain a World ID through eye scanning, due to regulatory risks.
It seems that things have changed during the Trump era.
"The United States is at the forefront of AI innovations. Now, it is time for the global AI hub to embrace its fundamental counterpart: proof of personhood," stated World.
"Finally, the world has launched into the United States," this is the headline of its announcement.
