Is SOL still worth holding long-term? Over the past few years, aside from Bitcoin, SOL has been one of the hottest stars in the crypto space. In my opinion, there are two key moments when SOL was worth investing in.
One was at the end of 2022 after the FTX collapse, when the price of SOL dropped to $8-20. Although SOL was frequently experiencing outages at that time, and its decentralization was average, it was still affected by the FTX fallout. However, from a technical perspective, it found a good balance between speed, cost, and decentralization, making it a stage worth taking risks.
Another good opportunity was in mid-2024, when the sound wave craze began, and pump.fun emerged, directly boosting SOL's popularity. These two points were the best times to enter SOL.
As for the current SOL, I personally feel it is no longer an ideal investment target. So to summarize, SOL is currently at a crossroads, either breaking through or reaching its peak. Looking at the trend based on this round of the bull market with Bitcoin, I personally would not recommend it, let alone hold SOL long-term.
