Vitalik Buterin Announces Ethereum Development Focus for 2025

Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin stated today on Warpcast that in 2025 he will focus on the long-term development of Ethereum Layer 1, including single-slot finality, virtual machine evolution, stateless architecture, and enhanced security and decentralization. He also plans to build a highly private, intermediary-free Ethereum application environment. At the same time, he will focus on topics related to 'decentralized acceleration (d/acc)', such as communication tools, mechanism design, public goods funding, operating systems, hardware, and biological defense. As for short-term scalability, peer-to-peer networking, and block building issues, they will be handled by others.
