Regarding the reasons for Binance's cancellation of these tokens, the platform clarified that it was part of its periodic review process to ensure that all listed assets continue to meet its standards. Factors such as project development, trading volume, community engagement, team commitment, and regulatory compliance were considered during this review.
Immediately after the announcement, three of the tokens took a heavy hit. The PlayDapp (PDA) stock, a Web3 gaming platform, fell by 19% within an hour. The Viberate (VIB) stock, a blockchain platform focused on music, dropped by 34%, and the Wing Finance (WING) stock, a credit-based decentralized finance platform, decreased by 25%.
However, the Alpaca Finance (ALPACA) stock had a different story, initially dropping by 20%, then quickly recovering and rising by 70%. It is likely that some traders took advantage of the dip, or perhaps the price increase was due to sudden shifts in liquidity after the news. This cancellation follows new allegations against Binance after the collapse of AERGO by more than 70% just hours after its launch on the Binance futures exchange, raising speculation of manipulation and coordinated sell-offs. It is noted that Binance had canceled the AERGO spot pair weeks ago, only to relist it for leveraged futures trading shortly before the sudden drop.
