SEC Delays Decision on Dogecoin and XRP ETFs

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has pushed back its decision on two proposed cryptocurrency exchange-traded funds (ETFs) that would hold Dogecoin and XRP. Specifically, the review period for Franklin Templeton’s spot XRP ETF has been extended to June 17, 2025.

Franklin Templeton's XRP fund is among several crypto ETF proposals currently awaiting regulatory review, alongside similar filings for Ethereum, Dogecoin, and Solana.

According to a Bloomberg analyst, the delay appears procedural and is not necessarily a sign of rejection—mirroring the process seen with previous Bitcoin and Ethereum ETF approvals.

Following the announcement, XRP’s price dipped below $2.30, marking a 3% drop for the day.
