Airdrop Safety Guide (Crypto & Files)

1. Verify the Source

Crypto Airdrops: Only participate in airdrops from official project websites or social media. Avoid unknown links in DMs or random emails.

File Airdrops (e.g., via AirDrop on iOS): Only accept files from trusted contacts. Don't accept files from strangers in public places.

2. Use a Separate Wallet

For crypto, use a new or secondary wallet when participating in airdrops to protect your main funds.

3. Never Share Private Keys

Legitimate airdrops will never ask for your private keys or seed phrases.

4. Beware of Scams

Watch for signs like:

Upfront payment requests

Suspicious domain names

Urgent or fear-based language ("Claim now or lose forever!")

5. Don’t Interact with Suspicious Tokens

If unknown tokens appear in your wallet:

Do not trade or move them.

They could be “dusting” or scam tokens with malicious smart contracts.

6. Keep Software Updated

Ensure your crypto wallet, device OS, and antivirus software are always up to date.

7. Use Hardware Wallets for Storage

Store valuable assets in hardware wallets for maximum security.
