How can there still be people who don't know how to roll over their positions?
This is such a simple basic operation in the cryptocurrency world, I wonder which so-called teaching bloggers keep explaining it in such a profound way for whom? Who can understand it? Pretending to be professional from a distance?
Rolling over positions, to put it simply, is the strategy of "using profits as bullets, increasing positions as you earn more," similar to rolling a snowball. Let me give a simple example:
Assuming you have 10,000 yuan, you open a position in Bitcoin with 10x leverage, which is equivalent to entering the market with 100,000 yuan. If it rises by 10%, you earn 10,000 yuan. At this point, instead of taking out the profit, you immediately open another position with 10x leverage using this 10,000 yuan profit, which means you continue to bet with 110,000 yuan.
If it rises again by 10%, this time you earn 11,000 yuan and continue to roll it in... Theoretically, as long as the price keeps rising, your position will grow larger like a rolling snowball.
But here’s the pitfall: if you roll over for the third time, your total position might become 300,000 yuan (principal + profit), and if the price drops by just 3%, you could lose all your principal (liquidation due to leverage).
It’s like using borrowed money to frantically double down; you can earn quickly but have an extremely low margin of error; a small price fluctuation could throw you off the ride.
In short: if you make money and don’t run, but instead go all-in again, it’s suitable for a bull market, but for ordinary people, it can easily turn into "money earned by luck, lost back by skill." Use with caution; if you really want to play, you must set a stop-loss!
