According to a new Cambridge University report:
✅ 52.4% of Bitcoin mining now uses sustainable energy
▪️ 42.6% from renewables (hydro/wind)
▪️ 9.8% from nuclear
⛽ Natural gas becomes the largest single energy source at 38.2%, overtaking coal (down to 8.9% from 36.6% in 2022)
📊 Annual consumption: 138 TWh (~0.5% of global electricity)
🌱 Emissions: 39.8 MtCO2e
🇺🇸 US dominates with 75.4% of global BTC mining share
