How many times has President Trump been sued?

During his first term (2017–2021), there were about 50–100 lawsuits related to immigration, environmental, and health policies filed by states. However, President Trump completed a full 4-year term and was later re-elected in 2024.

In the current term, as of April 2025, there have been about 30–50 lawsuits filed by states, mainly focused on immigration policies (such as birthright citizenship, asylum restrictions), tariffs, and actions related to federal agencies.

It is not unusual for a president to be sued by states; what is important is how the courts will handle and rule on these lawsuits.
