š Big News for Ethereum (ETH) Scalability!
Ethereum Foundation researcher Dankrad Feist has just introduced EIP-9698 ā a bold proposal to supercharge Ethereum's gas limit over the next two years!
Whatās happening?
Starting around June 1, 2025, Ethereum could see a 10x gas limit increase under a new deterministic growth schedule.
The gas limit would expand from 36 million to 3.6 billion, theoretically boosting TPS from 20 to 2,000!
This could finally put Ethereum's base layer in direct competition with Solana and other high-speed blockchains.
Why it matters:
More transactions, faster speeds ā goodbye network congestion!
Predictable scaling ā developers and node operators can plan and adapt gradually.
Layer 2 vs Base Layer Debate: Some call this the beginning of a true, scalable Ethereum without heavy L2 reliance.
The catch?
It still needs client approval ā and some worry about node stress and block propagation delays.
