It is a genetic mutation 🧬, since the macaws are not native nor can they arrive flying from their places of origin, this group is isolated. Caracas has become a kind of island for these birds. They can only interbreed among themselves, and many are related.
This causes a progressive reduction in genetic diversity. With less diversity, organisms become more susceptible to diseases and less able to withstand changes, as their ability to adapt decreases. Furthermore, inbreeding brings reproductive difficulties and congenital anomalies.
