Trump: Chinese President Reached Out on Tariffs — “Not a Sign of Weakness”
In a bold new interview with Time, President Donald Trump revealed that the Chinese President personally called him as both countries edge closer to a potential tariff agreement. Despite Beijing pushing back on the U.S. narrative, Trump insisted that negotiations are very much alive.
“I don’t think that’s a sign of weakness on his behalf,” Trump said, exuding confidence. He hinted that a breakthrough could be near, suggesting multiple deals might emerge within weeks. “There’s a number at which they’ll feel comfortable — but we can’t let them make a trillion dollars off us.”
So, is this a real diplomatic step forward — or just the latest turn in an ongoing trade standoff?
