Charles Hoskinson launches Crypto Bomb!
Predicts the Decline of #Ethereum in the next decade and shakes the crypto community
In an explosive AMA session on April 23, 2025, Charles Hoskinson, founder of #Cardano , put the future of Ethereum in jeopardy, stating that it may not survive more than 10-15 years.
"I don't believe Ethereum will survive more than ten or fifteen years. Layer 2s will continue to absorb all the alpha, and people will start to fight, and it will become increasingly difficult for Vitalik to hold it together with sheer willpower. And users will gradually migrate elsewhere."
Hoskinson harshly criticized Ethereum's architecture, its governance model, and fundamental components like proof of stake, the accounting model, and the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM), calling them "self-inflicted wounds" due to poor decisions by the Ethereum Foundation.
He pointed out that Layer 2 solutions (L2) are absorbing network activity, acting as "parasites" that could fragment the ecosystem and hinder its cohesion, even for Vitalik Buterin.
Hoskinson predicts a massive migration of users to other more scalable and efficient blockchains. However, he praised Buterin's proposal to adopt RISC-V as a more efficient alternative to the EVM, although he doubts it will be enough to save Ethereum.
These statements have sparked an intense debate in the crypto community about the future of one of the world's leading blockchains.
