The ZKsync Association has confirmed the recovery of stolen tokens valued at 5 million dollars from a security incident of ZKsync that occurred on April 15 and affected its airdrop distribution contract.
The hacker agreed to accept a 10% reward and return the remaining 90% of the stolen tokens, transferring nearly 5.7 million dollars to the ZKsync Security Council through three transfers on April 23.
"We are pleased to share that the hacker has cooperated and returned the funds within the safe harbor deadline," the ZKsync Association published on X on April 23, which was later republished by ZKsync's X account.
Matter Labs, the company behind the ZKsync protocol, has also republished the news shared on X.
ZKsync's X account previously confirmed that no user's funds were compromised.
