Scalping is a fast-paced trading strategy where traders aim to capture small price movements multiple times throughout the day. To succeed, you need a sharp strategy—and using the right combination of indicators is key.

In this post, I’ll share how I personally combine RSI, EMA, and VWAP to improve my scalping accuracy on Binance Futures.

EMA (Exponential Moving Average)

I use the 9 EMA and 21 EMA on the 1-minute or 5-minute chart.

When 9 EMA crosses above 21 EMA, it indicates short-term bullish momentum—a potential long entry.

When 9 EMA crosses below 21 EMA, it shows bearish pressure—a signal to go short or avoid longs.

Tip: The tighter the cross, the quicker the trend shift. Great for scalpers!

RSI (Relative Strength Index)

The RSI (14) helps identify momentum and potential reversals.

Ideal zone for entries: RSI between 40 and 60.

Avoid entries when RSI is above 70 (overbought) or below 30 (oversold)—this usually means the move is already extended.

Pro Move: Watch for RSI divergence with price. It often signals early reversals—perfect for scalping tops/bottoms.

VWAP (Volume Weighted Average Price)

VWAP is a day trader’s secret weapon. It shows the average price weighted by volume—acting as dynamic support/resistance.

Price above VWAP = bullish bias (prefer long scalps)

Price below VWAP = bearish bias (prefer short scalps)

Entry filter: Only take long positions when price is above VWAP, and short positions when price is below.

Example Scalping Setup

  1. Here’s how I combine all three:

  2. 9 EMA crosses above 21 EMA

  3. RSI is near 50 and climbing

  4. Price is bouncing off VWAP from above

  5. = I enter a quick long scalp with tight stop-loss just below VWAP.

Final Thoughts

Scalping is not just about speed—it’s about precision.

When RSI, EMA, and VWAP align, your chances of catching profitable trades go up dramatically.

Always manage risk and backtest your setups. No indicator is perfect, but a solid combination like this gives you a real edge.
