Strategy, by Michael Saylor, has acquired 6,556 Bitcoin for USD 555.8 million, bringing the total holdings to 538,200 BTC, according to the company's latest filing with the SEC.

Strategy, by Michael Saylor, one of the largest corporate holders of Bitcoin in the world that is publicly traded, added another significant purchase to its growing portfolio while the cryptocurrency trades near USD 85,000.

Strategy acquired 6,556 Bitcoin for USD 555.8 million between April 14 and April 20, at an average price of USD 84,785 per coin, according to the company’s latest Form 8-K filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

This latest purchase represents 1.2% of the total 538,200 BTC that Strategy held as of April 20, acquired for a total amount of USD 36.5 billion at an average price of USD 67,766 per BTC.

The latest Bitcoin purchase was financed with proceeds from Common ATM and STRK ATM stock offerings, including the sale of 1,755,000 shares of Strategy for USD 547.7 million and 91,213 Series A preferred shares sold for USD 7.8 million.

Strategy expands its purchases after a pause

The latest purchase comes after the acquisition of 3,459 BTC by Strategy announced on April 14, which was the first purchase announced by the company after March 31.

Before that, Strategy did not report any Bitcoin purchases between March 31 and April 6, breaking its usual cadence when Bitcoin fell below USD 87,000.

Strategy has acquired 91,800 Bitcoin so far in 2025, representing 17% of its total BTC holdings.
