Vietnam Ranks Second in the World for Cryptocurrency Ownership Rate
According to the 2023 Cryptocurrency Asset Report by Henley & Partners, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) currently leads globally with 30.4% of the population owning cryptocurrency. This success comes from the UAE government's open and blockchain-friendly policies.
Specifically, the Financial Services Regulatory Authority (FSRA - ADGM) of the UAE is one of the first organizations in the world to issue a clear legal framework for cryptocurrency trading activities. Furthermore, the UAE has proposed tax exemptions for investors and businesses in the cryptocurrency sector, demonstrating a strong commitment to promoting the blockchain ecosystem.
Vietnam proudly ranks second, with over 21% of the population owning cryptocurrency – an impressive figure that reflects the high level of interest and participation of the people in the digital economy.
However, when considering the absolute number of cryptocurrency owners, India leads with 93 million people, followed by China (59 million) and the United States (52 million). Meanwhile, Vietnam and Pakistan rank fourth and fifth with approximately 20 million and 15 million users, respectively.
The rapid development of cryptocurrency in Vietnam is evidence of the enormous potential of this market in the region and globally.
