‼️U.S.–China Trade War Intensifies: Tariffs Reach Historic Highs

In a sharp escalation of the ongoing trade tensions, the White House announced that China now faces tariffs of up to 245% on U.S. imports.

Timeline of the Tariff Escalation:

• The trade dispute began with former President Trump imposing a 20% tariff on Chinese imports.

• This was followed by a 34% increase on April 2, and an additional 50% in response to China’s retaliatory stance — bringing total tariffs to 104%.

• China countered with an 84% increase on U.S. goods.

• In response to what Trump called Beijing’s “lack of respect,” U.S. tariffs were raised again to 125%.

• Most recently, both countries have matched each other, with China raising its tariffs to 125% and the U.S. increasing tariffs to 145%.

• As of now, retaliatory measures have pushed tariffs to a staggering 245%, marking a critical point in U.S.–China trade relations.
