Trump Calls on Russia to “Get Moving” Toward Ukraine Ceasefire

US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff met with President Vladimir Putin in St. Petersburg for over four hours to discuss a potential resolution to the war in Ukraine. This marks their third meeting this year.

Former President Donald Trump publicly urged Russia to act swiftly, posting on social media:
"Russia has to get moving. Too many people are DYING, thousands a week, in a terrible and senseless war."

Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky accused the Kremlin of dragging out the conflict and claimed Chinese nationals are fighting alongside Russian troops. He renewed his call for advanced air defense systems to protect Ukraine’s cities.

European nations also announced €21 billion in new military aid for Kyiv, emphasizing that peace is still far from sight.

Trump has reiterated that if he had been President in 2022, this war would’ve never happened.
