In a groundbreaking move for Pakistan's digital finance sector, Binance founder Changpeng Zhao, commonly known as CZ, has been named Strategic Adviser to the Pakistan Crypto Council. This marks a significant step forward in the country's journey toward adopting blockchain, Web3, and digital finance technologies.
The announcement followed a high-profile meeting led by Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, attended by key officials including the Chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan, the Governor of the State Bank, and Federal Secretaries of Law and IT.
"This is a historic milestone for Pakistan," stated Finance Minister Aurangzeb. "With CZ joining us, we are fast-tracking our vision to position Pakistan as a regional leader in Web3 and blockchain innovation."
During his visit, CZ also met with the Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister, highlighting the government's dedication to creating a regulatory framework and technological ecosystem that fosters innovation.

As Strategic Adviser, CZ will provide expertise in regulation, infrastructure, education, and the adoption of crypto technologies.
