**Crypto Shake-Up in Europe: Binance and Kraken Delist USDT Spot Trading**
In a bid to comply with the Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA), Binance has stopped spot trading pairs with Tether’s USDT in the European Economic Area (EEA). This move is part of a broader effort to delist non-MiCA-compliant tokens, a plan revealed earlier this year.
While spot trading is off the table, users can still hold and trade these tokens in perpetual contracts. Other exchanges like Kraken have also restricted USDT, allowing only sell-mode since March 24. Despite these changes, custody services remain unaffected, aligning with MiCA guidelines.
