Tariffs will harm the United States themselves, says Lula
Upon concluding a state visit to Japan on the night of this Wednesday (26), morning of Thursday (27) in the Asian country, President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva gave an interview to journalists and was asked about the announcement, earlier, by the President of the United States, Donald Trump, of a new 25% tariff, this time on imported cars arriving in the United States. The measure is the latest tariff imposed by the new US government on international trade. "What President Trump needs is to measure the consequences of these decisions. If he thinks that by taking this decision to tax everything that the United States imports [it will help], I believe it will be detrimental to the United States. This will raise the prices of goods, and could lead to inflation that he is yet to realize," said Lula.
