An Executive at Binance Shares Details About His Release from Detention in Nigeria
After almost five months of returning to the United States, Tigran Gambaryan spoke to the audience at the DC Blockchain Summit about his detention in Nigeria.
Tigran Gambaryan, one of the executives at Binance who was detained in Nigeria for eight months in 2024 on charges of tax evasion and money laundering, provided additional details about his experience and what led to his release.
In his speech during the Washington DC Blockchain Summit on March 26, Gambaryan, the Head of Financial Crime Compliance at Binance, stated that the Nigerian government had detained him unjustly, indicating that the criminal charges against him were a pretext to obtain something from Binance. Gambaryan added that he saw signs indicating the possibility of his release "about a month before" he was returned to the United States.#BinanceAlphaAlert
