20/March/2025
Over 130 individuals in Australia have fallen victim to a scam where fraudsters impersonated Binance representatives. The scammers contacted targets via SMS and encrypted messaging platforms, claiming that their cryptocurrency accounts had been compromised. Victims were instructed to transfer their assets to a 'trust wallet' controlled by the scammers, resulting in the loss of their funds. Authorities are urging recipients of such messages to verify communications and report any fraudulent activity promptly.
Platform Updates:
Binance has introduced zero-fee trading for all pairs within its Binance Wallet. This promotion, which began on March 17, 2025, will run for six months, aiming to enhance user experience and encourage more trading activity on the platform.
The exchange has expanded support for the stablecoin StraitsX (XUSD) and the Four (FORM) token (formerly BinaryX). This move is part of Binance's efforts to diversify its offerings and provide users with a broader range of trading options.
Industry Movements:
Changpeng Zhao (CZ), the former CEO of Binance, has reportedly invested in two memecoins. This action has sparked discussions within the crypto community, with many speculating on the potential market impact of his investments. It's noteworthy that following CZ's purchases, other users sent free tokens to his wallet, anticipating possible market movements.
Please exercise caution and ensure you are accessing official Binance channels for any transactions or communications to protect against potential scams
