Trump Hosts Cryptocurrency Summit at the White House Next Friday
President Donald Trump will chair the first cryptocurrency summit at the White House next Friday.
The White House stated in a release that Trump will deliver remarks at the gathering "which will include prominent leaders, executives, and investors from the cryptocurrency industry, along with members of the President's Working Group on Cryptocurrency."
The summit will be led by businessman and cryptocurrency czar at the White House David Sachs, and it will be managed by the executive director of the working group, Bo Hines, according to the statement.
Shortly after taking office, the president signed an executive order to establish a working group of key agencies that will advise the White House on cryptocurrency policy and evaluate the creation of a stockpile.
The working group includes the Departments of Treasury and Justice, as well as the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission.
