#BitwiseBitcoinETF Hamster Kombat, the popular "tap-to-earn" game on Telegram, has just announced plans to launch a Layer-2 network on The Open Network (TON). This decision was made after the game's DAO community voted in favor of creating a dedicated blockchain to expand the utility of the HMSTR token.
The new blockchain network, expected to be named Hamster Network, will serve as the foundation for the expanding Hamsterverse ecosystem. The development team has started building this network and plans to announce a detailed roadmap along with a DAO implementation strategy in the near future, aimed at strengthening Hamster Kombat's position in the decentralized gaming sector.
Previously, Hamster Kombat attracted significant attention with over 300 million players worldwide. However, following an unsuccessful airdrop, the number of users drastically declined from 300 million to just 41 million within three months, and the value of the HMSTR token dropped nearly 60%.
The launch of the new Layer-2 network on TON is expected to improve performance and expand the utility of the HMSTR token, while also rekindling player interest in Hamster Kombat. However, in the context of declining interest in "tap-to-earn" games, the effectiveness of this move will take time to assess.
