According to ChainCatcher, Canadian pharmacy manager Raelene Vandenbosch lost 12.58 bitcoins in a SIM swap scam, currently worth about $1.36 million. She is suing Rogers Communications and Match Transact Inc., accusing the mobile store employees of security negligence.

Vandenbosch claims that the scammers impersonated technicians to gain access to Rogers' customer database and stole bitcoins from her cryptocurrency wallets on Ledger and Shakepay. She is suing for negligence, invasion of privacy, and breach of contract.

Rogers and Match have neither admitted nor denied the allegations, claiming to resolve the matter through private arbitration. The Supreme Court of British Columbia ruled that most of the case needs arbitration but allowed some claims to proceed in open court.
