The proposal aimed to assess Bitcoin mining as a tool for utilizing surplus electricity production, stabilizing the grid, and optimizing nuclear power plant operations. If passed, France would become one of the few countries to incorporate Bitcoin mining into its national energy strategy.
According to local media, the proposal was rejected as it was deemed to contain irrelevant content. Analysts believe that because Bitcoin mining is viewed as an environmental disaster in France, the likelihood of similar proposals being approved in the short term is low.
