According to reports from Wu, in July 2024, Dough Finance was hacked due to a vulnerability, resulting in user losses of approximately $2.5 million. Although the founder promised to compensate for the losses, a new project, World Liberty Financial, was launched shortly thereafter, earning at least $65 million. Dough user Jonathan Lopez has sued founder Chase Herro, accusing him of fraud and breach of fiduciary duty, seeking damages. The Dough website has been shut down, recovering only about $281,000, and issuing tokens with no actual value as compensation.
